Upcoming Events

Each month Bethesda Green focuses on a specific aspect of local sustainability -- topics of real importance to building a thriving, ecologically sound future for our community: energy choices, the quality of our food, questions about what we can reuse and recycle.

In addition to information workshops, we'll be holding a number of lunchtime discussions and evening social gatherings.  Unless otherwise noted, all events are held at Bethesda Green.

September 2010 -- Time to Remember the Days of Summer

• Thursday, September 2, 5 pm - 8 pm -- First Thursday Happy Hour at Yamas Mediterranean Grill in Bethesda. Join us for casual conversation and social networking.

• Saturday, September 11, 8 am - 11 am -- Community Paper Shredding and Recycling Event at Montgomery College Rockville Campus (Lot 13).
   
• Thursday, September 16, 7 pm - 9 pm -- NRG Co-op Open House at Bethesda Green.  Learn about the Maryland Energy and Sustainability Co-op.

• Saturday, September 18, 10 am - noon -- Rain Garden Seminar hosted by American Plant at its offices, Kenwood Building, 5272 River Road, Bethesda, MD 20816.

• Sunday, September 26, all day -- Chesapeake Bay Cleanup and Social hosted by Do Good Adventures and Seltzer Film and Video.

• Wednesday, September 29, 7 pm - 9 pm --  Repower @ Home Community Energy Meeting at Bethesda Green.  Share ideas with others about saving energy at home.

• Thursday, September 30, 4 pm - 5:30 pm -- BG 101, an orientation about Bethesda Green, covering our history, upcoming events and volunteer opportunities.
  

October 2010 -- Welcome Fall and Changing Seasons

• Thursday, October 7, 6 pm - 10 pm -- Bethesda Green Gala, an evening of inspiration, celebration and recognition of local green champions at Imagination Stage.

• Thursday, October 14, 8 am - 10 am -- Introduction to Green Careers, a one-day course at Bethesda Green offered by Montgomery College's Department of Workforce Development and Continuing Education.
  

• Thursday, October 21, 8 am - 10 am -- Green Collar Jobs, a one-day course at Bethesda Green offered by Montgomery College's Department of Workforce Development and Continuing Education.

• Thursday, October 28, 4 pm - 5:30 pm -- BG 101, an orientation about Bethesda Green, covering our history, upcoming events and volunteer opportunities.

Transportation options: Public parking garage is located on Woodmont (near Battery Lane). We are Metro accessible via Bethesda station, and a bike rack is available in front of the building.
