Phoebe Hearst Elementary School in DC's Cleveland Park neighborhood will hold its fourth annual "E-Cycle," this Saturday, May 5. It's a free opportunity for you to recycle unwanted electronic equipment in a safe and environmentally responsible way.
The Hearst Green Team will be collecting the following electronics, which will be transported to the District of Columbia's Ft. Totten Transfer Station for recycling:
TVs/DVD players/VCRs, Computer towers and monitors, Laptop and netbook computers, iPods and MP3 players, Cell phones and pagers, Unbroken compact florescent light bulbs, Batteries (no car batteries), CDs/DVDs/VCR tapes, Audio cassettes, Audio/visual equipment, Floppy disks and hard drives, CD Rom drives, Memory chips, Camcorders, digital cameras, Network/video/ Network/vid, Power supplies, Connectors/cords/ Conn, Video games & software, Copy machines, Fax machines, printers, scanners, Game consoles (Wii, PS3, Xbox), Video games and handheld game systems, Graphing calculators, Tape drives, Printer cartridges
In addition, the Hearst E-Cycle will feature a "freecycle," a swap meet in which people can drop off functional electronic equipment for others to take home and use for free.
The event is free and open to the public.
