BG Intern Profile

Name: Mary Evans

Age: 22

Hometown: Chevy Chase, MD

How did you get involved with
Bethesda Green?

I had been looking for a way to get involved in the green movement and my mom suggested Bethesda Green. She had heard about them from the company she works for, American Plant. I then looked up Bethesda Green online and e-mailed Dave H. I met with Dave and immediately started working on the “Fields of Green” internship fair project, as well as the First Thursday Happy Hour e-mail flyers.

What kind of work do you do at BG?
I do several different things at Bethesda Green, mostly with the Education, Marketing and Outreach group. I help promote events by designing marketing material, such as the First Thursday Happy Hour. I am also working closely with Rosalie Grazzini, planning the “Fields of Green” internship fair. I have created a brand for the fair along with a poster and website.

What have you gotten out of your experience at BG so far?
For the short time that I have been interning at Bethesda Green, I have truly learned a lot. Being so intricately involved in the planning process of the internship fair has taught me so much about event planning and networking. Designing the promotional material has also been a great experience and taught me a lot about promoting events and working as part of a team. I enjoy every moment I spend at Bethesda Green because I feel as though my efforts are really making a difference. The people there are wonderful and just being around them teaches me more and more about the business world and about creating a sustainable community. I love being a part of Bethesda Green and am looking forward to spending more time there in the future months. Thank you for letting me be a part of your team!
